Hm, any chance you've change your keyboard? I can't detect the fancy function keys on many new keyboards.
Thanks for your comment. This based on a mac app called "Alpha Baby." I was not a mac person (and I didn't have kids) in the 80s. I came up with the BabySmash name because my son said it while watching The Hulk. It's kind of an obvious name. ;)
That said, I've since been in touch with Justin and he's supportive of the project.
Is this on an older computer?
Thanks for the feedback!

Surprisingly, this is not possible with those exact three buttons. Vista will not allow anyone to prevent the system shutting down. I’ve had to cover these buttons.
UPDATE: I’ve looked into this, and it turns out that you can go into Windows “PowerOptions” and change the option for “When The Power Button is Pressed – Do This” to “Do Nothing.” Maybe if I told the Parent that as the app starts up?

OK, she hit ALT-F4 fast? My concern is that if I make exiting harder that parents won’t be able to get out. ;) (I’ve had this complaint before). However, your point is well taken. What’s a good keystroke? CTRL-SHIFT-ALT-F4?
I'm liking the idea of a 4 digit pin, but I'm concerned folks will forget it.
Ya, I thought about the captcha thing, but what if the kid sees it...do I just give them one try to type a word, then leave? For a toddler the exiting of the game might become a game in itself!
How about if they press ALT-FT, I "pulse" or blink the instructions in the upper corner that say "use CTRL-SHIFT-ALT-F4"?
Great idea! Does your tablet support touchscreen or are you giving the baby a pen?
I'm totally with you on this suggestion, but there are no touch screens in the market that I know about. Do you?
You want to point BabySmash to a pictures Directory? What audio would be played?

Cool idea! I need a Midi library for C#...
Great idea. When they press Space Bar, maybe?
If I made it so you could record your own, would you have the patience to do all the shapes, colors and letters?
