Allow shapes to be non-random
It would be good to have an option where specific shapes are mapped to specific keys, rather than random.
Our 18mo loves BabySmash and especially loves the stars (she asks to play it by saying "Dar!"), and she can pick out specific keys. So if I press Ctrl and get a star, she then presses Ctrl and is disappointed if she gets a different shape. It would be good to have a mode where the shapes were predictable.3 votes -

pronounce "zee" as "zed" to create international English version.
Outside of North America "zee" is pronounced "zed".

Support old computers without hw alpha blending
I want to use babysmash on my old laptop, but it doesn't does alpha blending in hardware, so it is quite slow.
Would it be possible to have a option that disables the blending/transparency effect ? It wouldn't be as eye candy, but would work smooothly.

turn individual keys into musical notes so baby can make music/noise and learn cause and effect
I was surprised this option wasn't already available. Our 5 month old loves Baby Smash with laughter - not so much with speech - but I think introducing a musical element will make the appeal last longer and the program can grow with him. Until he figures out that a certain key makes a certain note, I am sure he will continue to smash away... but once he discovers the cause and effect, a whole new game will manifest.

disable ctrl-windowskey
on windows 7, this brings up start menu and defeats the app security. several other key combos (probably involving banging a full hand on shift, ctrl, fn, windows key, or alt) pop up windows functions.

Add 'A is for..' option!!
Add 'A is for..', 'B is for..' option, this would make it more interesting.
Also add parent's option choose the object set for the same4 votes -
Craymachine adaptation
Before i found Babysmash! I was using the flash game Craymachine (http://www.zefrank.com/snm/index.html), Every key does something different, some really cool effects that you could use for inspiration if nothing else for Babysmash! It's kinda incomplete though because it only utilizes lower case letters and it doesn't have the necessary lock-out controls to make it baby safe. it does really cool effects that my 1.5 year old loves (especially the rain) even without color being added. You should check it out, maybe it would be possible to work with the programmer to turn Craymachine into a babysmash pack. Worth… more

The sounds for "B" & "P" are mixed up.
When pressing 'B', the sound for 'P' is heard and vice-versa. The letters displayed on the screen are correct.

BabySmash Autostart
I need BabySmash to start automatically when my computer goes idle. My 1 year old attacks my keyboard when I take a bathroom break ect. If it could start on it's own while I'm away it would save my computer. She has erased documents and all sorts of things by her smashing!

3 parts to Internationalization
It would be great if BabySmash could support languages beyond English. Not only would it be good for babies raised speaking other languages, but it would also give English-speaking parents the chance to introduce their children to foreign phonemes and characters. The program would need to support (1) various character sets, (2) various keyboards that map to those character sets, and (3) sound files recorded by native speakers. Parents could select that smashes produce results in one, several, or all included languages. Wouldn't it be cool to select Amharic and see that alphabet, along with hearing it spoken, even if… more

Bug Report
My 2 year old loves the app, but we had trouble with it recently:
Laptop was running baby smash but not plugged in. Low battery warning caused babysmash to be non-full screened. Laptop was closed for later usage.
When the laptop was charged and opened later, babysmash was still running even though I.E. wasn't. All punctuation and Windows Key input was blocked from all application.

Good app
Hey I hate your app.
It caused an ExecutionEngineException, my poor child was scared to death!
Today even better: it caused error in ntdll.dll and I had to bring my notebook to be repaired because it failed to boot!!
OK just kidding ;)
Funny app. Sorry didn't find guestbook part and this is called feedback, even though I see you use it only for suggestions and not for compliments.I don't have children I'm not even married, but I liked the app I played with it.
Regards,
